Good bookstores are hard to find. Do you want used books? Yes. Do you also want new books? Absolutely. Grassroots has a pretty great selection, but it's not large, and I dig that.
You're going to pull up and see the back alley full of gross boxes of used and donated books, but don't freak out. I promise you it's worth it. And the $5 all-you-can-fit-in-a-bag sale every Sunday is DOPE.
Fill. Those. Bags.
A house becomes a home when you have a book shelf. I know you're all "but I don't read, and people will think I'm pretentious". So what. Surround yourself with books. You'll read more. And reading more is important. I make websites for a living. Do I think you can learn everything you need on the web and wikipedia? No. That's stupid. You think you have a digital system to catalog your second brain but you don't. Nothing beats a dog-ears page with highlighter marks. I promise. I won't go into my Ted Talk-level sermon on how much easier it is to recall information you digest physically verses digitally, but it's true. If you disagree, I'll fight you in real life and then the metaverse and you can tell me which one you remember better.
